JJ Lane’s ‘Bachelorette’ Brawl Explained: Contestant In Wrong Place At Wrong Time, He Says

JJ Lane’s Bachelorette experience came to a brutal conclusion after the weekend “Men Tell All” taping. As is often the case, Lane and many fellow contestants headed out for a bit of partying after the taping wrapped. Unfortunately, in JJ’s case, he ended up with two black eyes to show for the trip.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, JJ Lane’s Bachelorette brawl came as he was leaving the taping after-party in Los Angeles Saturday night. JJ and a crew member were jumped by a group of men outside the venue, and punches were thrown.

Lane was taken to the hospital, as some worried that he might have a concussion, and he did end up with two black eyes. Though it was a bad ending to what was surely a fun night otherwise, JJ did seem to have fun with his fellow Bachelor franchise friends over the rest of the weekend.

Now, JJ has addressed the incident via his Twitter page, saying as follows.

“I stood up for a friend on Saturday and rec’d 2 black eyes for my effort. I did however leave 4 of them hurting and running away. #Facts Wrong place and wrong time. It was an unfortunate situation and I’m thankful it wasn’t worse for myself or my friends.”

A later Twitter conversation that included or at least tagged Joe Bailey, Shawn Booth, Ben Zorn, and Jared Haibon linked to a report on the incident via E! News. It seems that the guys are able to have a pretty good laugh about the brutal battle, with Joe mentioning that he landed at least one good punch. There were also some jokes about how the attackers would have crossed the street if Jared had been in the mix.

Though the TMZ report says that Ben Zorn was brought out and broke things up, that doesn’t seem to be the case, based on what the guys are saying. It seems they’re indicating that Ben Zorn actually wasn’t in the mix of this one until the fight was essentially over.

From the sounds of the tweet stream from the guys, it may have been Joe who should be getting some of the credit for saving the day. Ben notes that he did end up out there, seemingly after Clare Crawley went and grabbed him, but calling him the hero of the night may not be quite how it all went down.

In any case, JJ Lane’s Bachelorette experience ended with quite the footnote, but he seems to be able to shake his head and laugh about it a bit. Next up for Lane is the “Men Tell All” special, airing on Monday, July 20, along with a trip to Mexico for Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, airing later this summer.
