Cher Selling Key To “Adelaide” On eBay, Mayor Yarwood Is Not Happy

Cher is selling off one of the many awards she has been given over her lifetime on eBay. The singers office recently listed the key to the city of Adelaide, Australia on the popular auction side which lead Adelaide Mayor Stephen Yarwood to proclaim:

“I am exceptionally disappointed.”

Yarwood then makes the unfounded claim that Cher must be out of money and in desperate need to sell the ward she received in 1990. According to the city’s mayor:

“It’s more a reflection on Cher than the city of Adelaide. It must be very embarrassing for her if she is selling it because she needs the money.”

The over-sized brass key which comes with a certificate of authenticity has already received bids for more than $100,000.

While Adelaide’s mayor may be claiming that Cher is broke, her rep who is handling the sale says otherwise.

Cher receives many awards and gifts from all over the world,” said the rep handling the sale. “At certain times she goes through her huge collection, and decides to share many of these special treasures with her fans.”

In Cher’s defense the entire sale may be a mistake, in a tweet on Thursday the singer wrote:

“Im upset, too, and trying to get to the bottom” while adding, “Think my office fkd up? Upsetting peeps in Aussie, especially the mayor.”

Perhaps Stephen Yarwood would now like to reconsider his “reflection” comment regarding Cher.

In the meantime I want to know who is silly enough to bid more than $100,000 on an over-sized key to a city.
