Woman With Two Wombs ‘Goes Into Labor’ Each Time She Has A Menstrual Cycle

Sophie Loader has given birth to one child, but she’s actually “gone into labor” more than 100 times. While the shocking revelation probably leads many to wonder how such a thing could actually be possible, Loader suffers from a rare condition that triggers painful spasms, which leads to the simulation of labor pains whenever she’s menstruating.

According to Mirror Online, the 23-year-old was reportedly born with a rare birth defect known as uterus bicornis. The debilitating condition often referred to as having a “two-horned uterus,” means Loader has two wombs with only one vagina.

After months of agonizing pain and medical exams, doctors finally discovered the problem and were able to explain the nature of her pain. Loader’s right womb is reportedly the cause of the problem. Although doctors stated that Loader’s left womb is completely normal, the right fills up with blood each month, and the abnormality serves as an indicator of “labor” to her body, hence the excruciating labor pains.

During a recent interview, Loader who has been experiencing labor pains since the age of 13, graphically described the immense pain she suffers whenever it’s her time oof the month. There is reportedly no treatment for the pain, which can last up to 72 hours, so she’s usually forced to endure and combat the pain with the same breathing exercises mothers-to-be use when preparing to deliver.

“I’ve been in labor more than 100 times, but only once for real. To say that it’s a pain would be an understatement. It might shock women to hear I have been in labour more than one hundred times. When I was 13 and the contractions started, I had never felt pain like it and couldn’t understand what was happening to me, it was terrifying – even the doctor thought I might be pregnant.”

“I was hospitalized more than 30 times because I couldn’t cope with the symptoms. Each time they would give me gas and air to control the pain. In the end, all doctors could do was teach me how to control my contractions using breathing exercises that real women in labor use… I wouldn’t wish this on any woman.”

Surprisingly, the condition didn’t deter her from actually wanting to have children. She was more than happy to give birth to her daughter, despite going into labor so many times. “Being is labour once a month for eight years was exhausting. “You’d think it would be enough to put me off having a baby. But ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to be a mother.” Although there is no cure for uterus bicornis, Loader now has a contraceptive implant in place so she only experiences the gut-wrenching pains every three months now.
