Amazon Prime Day Fail? Big Sale Fails To Impress Online Shoppers

Amazon Prime Day has become more of an “epic fail” rather than an epic deal. As most consumers know, it’s the big one-day sale where the company claimed that it was going to better than Black Friday. Well, according to numerous reports and consumers, it’s more of an “Amazon Prime Day Fail.”

Angry consumers took to Twitter to start the hashtag #PrimeDayFail. The deals started at 12:01 a.m. PST on Wednesday, and new ones were supposed to roll out every 10 minutes as the day goes on. Some of the biggest deals have been on airplane seatbelt extenders, extra-long shoehorns, granny panties, and pencil sharpeners. Some customers have noted that you would find these items at a yard sale.

Amazon did offer some good deals on the Kindle Fire, the GoPro camera bundle, and the Blu-Ray Lord of the Rings trilogy set, if you’re looking for those types of items. The retail giant also offered random deals on baby wipes and detergent.

Now, here’s why it failed. Amazon’s spokesperson, Julie Law, said that the big sale was going to include electronics and home items. But it looks like there are random products that are making consumers furious. Some are even wondering if Amazon Prime is worth the hefty $99 subscription rate. Consumers have taken to Twitter to exclaim their rage underneath the hashtag.

“Amazon Prime stuff is a bunch of garage sale stuff. Where do I start…self powered lawnmower or Kindle I don’t need,” wrote Twitter user coffeygrinds.

“I browsed the #AmazonPrimeDay deals and I’m not in the market for bulk fireball candy and beer koozies that say Captain and First Mate #FAIL,” wrote FlowerChic462.

“I had high hopes but #AmazonPrimeDay let me down. How can it be that they didn’t discount their popular products (just the un popular ones)?” asked @mdemoya.

The Amazon Prime Day Fail jokes and memes have already been rolling out on Twitter. Behold some of the biggest memes that have went viral.

Amazon Prime Day garnered so much attention this week that it caused Best Buy, Macy’s, Target, and Wal-Mart to start their own sales on the same day. According to a previous report on Inquisitr, Wal-Mart has already stolen Amazon’s thunder on its big day. It looks like all of the customers are flocking to the alternative online retailers in hopes of finding real good deals on big-ticket electronics and home goods.

Hopefully, Amazon won’t lose some of its premium subscribers. What are your thoughts on Amazon Prime Day? Do you think it was an epic fail? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
