Ronda Rousey Tags Floyd Mayweather With Epic Smack After Winning 2015 ESPY Fighter Of The Year

MMA legend and undefeated UFC champion Ronda Rousey just won the 2015 ESPY for Best Fighter of the Year, beating out boxer Floyd Mayweather along with many other tough and dominant figures in the fighting world.

But Ronda Rousey’s ESPY win over Mayweather appeared to be particularly satisfying for the female UFC champ, with Mayweather once claiming, when asked about Ronda, “Actually, I don’t even know who he is.”

Should he still claim not to know Ronda Rousey, Mayweather may perk up and take notice now. Ronda let some verbal bombs fly on Mayweather in an interview with Access Hollywood after receiving her 2015 Fighter of the Year ESPY, alluding to Mayweather’s past alleged domestic violence issues, while also cleverly including his claim that he didn’t know who “(s)he” was.

Along with today’s domestic-violence-alluding, “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once?” post-ESPY quip, Rousey and Mayweather have been part of, or included in, other past conversations, making for a colorful Rousey-Mayweather history.

According to Sports Illustrated, Ronda Rousey was having another chat with Access Hollywood back in May. When asked about what would happen in a hypothetical fight or other physical altercation with Floyd Mayweather, Ronda Rousey didn’t miss a beat bringing up Mayweather’s many past domestic violence arrests, saying, “I don’t think that me and him would ever fight, unless we ended up dating.”

Taken alone, this statement from Rousey could possibly be seen as an innocent stumbling into Mayweather’s history of alleged domestic violence, but coupled with today’s post-ESPY 2015 Fighter of the Year jab, Ronda Rousey’s pummeling of Mayweather is pretty clear.

Ronda Rousey’s slapping of Mayweather with snappy domestic violence quips also accompanies other past scenarios involving Ronda and Floyd.

During a 2014 Las Vegas interview, UFC President Dana White was presented with the hypothetical Rousey vs. Mayweather matchup, White making clear at the time that he didn’t start the whole “Ronda Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather thing.” He did agree that Mayweather would not fare well in a physical altercation with Rousey, reports MMA Junkie.

That said, while White concedes that in a boxing match, “Mayweather chews (Ronda) up,” take away the rules and gloves of boxing, and Floyd Mayweather would be in a world of hurt in a fight with Ronda Rousey, says White.

“You take a street fight, Ronda wins that fight and hurts him badly. You do an MMA fight, same result… Ronda wouldn’t beat him, she’d hurt him badly… I think there’s a lot of people who would like to see that fight, and it’s no disrespect to Floyd, it’s just, it is what it is… Ronda will whip a lot of dude’s asses, not just Floyd’s.”

While Rousey and Mayweather will likely (hopefully) never engage in a physical fight, points so far go to Rousey in any verbal joust, along with Ronda’s 2015 Best Fighter ESPY.
