Justin Martin Arrested: ‘Flight’ Actor Allegedly Points Gun At Cops

Actor Justin Martin was reportedly arrested on Tuesday by Boston Police after a failed attempt to run away from them.

TMZ reports that Boston Police patrol officers chased the 21-year-old actor along with another man with him after they heard gunfire.

According to the report, when the officers arrived, Justin Martin and the other man were both armed and fleeing the scene. Boston Police claims that, at one point during the chase, Justin “turned and pointed his gun” at the cops. Even though the Flight actor did not fire his gun, the other man apparently did open fire.

“Officers fired back, and did not hit [Justin] Martin but they managed to chase him down, and while arresting him, recovered a.22 caliber pistol.”

Justin Martin was charged for two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as carrying a loaded firearm.

According to TMZ, Martin submitted a plea of “not guilty” for all charges. His bail was reportedly set at $35,000.

Justin Martin had a relatively small role in the 2008 Disney Channel movie, High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

He played Donnie Dion, the freshman ball boy for the Wildcats basketball team.

Justin also starred as Denzel Washington’s son, Will Jr., in the 2012 Oscar-nominated film, Flight. Even though his role in the Robert Zemeckis-directed film was still relatively small, Justin’s character played an integral part in the film’s final scene.

In an interview with Gofobo during the film’s red carpet premiere, Justin Martin opened up about what it was like to act alongside Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington.

“That’s a dream come true for me. Working with, not only Denzel but just the cast in general… made me feel great and definitely made me feel like I had to step it up, step it up to the next level to be on their level.”

Justin Martin was first discovered by Joy Pervis, the same agent credited for discovering many other child stars — including Kyle Massey and Dakota Fanning.
