Halle Berry was back in court with her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, on Tuesday, in hopes of cutting her child support payments down. According to Mail Online, Halle Berry filed court documents last fall after deciding that paying $16,000 a month to Aubry for their daughter, Nahla, 7, was unacceptable. Berry is reportedly hoping to pay about a quarter of that, believing that Aubry doesn’t need much more than $4,000 a month in support.
Berry stated that she has no problem giving Aubry child support, but that he needs to have a full time job, and not be living off the paychecks that he receives from her.
“There is no case, no law, no logic that says a healthy, active man gets to simply live off child support that the wealthier mother earns,” the documentation reads in part.
Halle Berry will fight this in court as long as she can. She says that her ex has spent a lot of her money on his own personal needs, from fitness to clothing and accessories, though it is unknown if Berry has proof (or if she really needs any). Getting about $200,000 a year, Aubry doesn’t really need to work, and apparently he hasn’t been.
According to the Toronto Sun, Berry and Aubry share custody of Nahla. The two split in 2010, and have had various issues since. Berry married Olivier Martinez in 2013, and they have a son together, Maceo, 2. In 2012, Gabriel Aubry and Olivier Martinez got into a scuffle, and Aubry says that he can’t find a job due to an injury that he suffered in that altercation.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Aubry got his face “beat in” by Martinez. As a model, it’s hard to find work when you have injuries to your face, but this incident happened years ago. The photo below shows Aubry in June of 2014 — his face looks totally fine, don’t you think?
Clearly, Halle Berry isn’t putting up with it anymore. No word yet on what Gabriel Aubry’s defense was, or what exactly happened between the former lovers during yesterday’s court meeting.
Do you think that Halle Berry will win this case? How much money do you think she should have to pay Aubry each month for Nahla’s care?
