The Walking Dead casting call, issued just a few weeks ago, alerts fans of the immensely popular AMC series that guys with “firearms experience” are wanted for Season 6 of the series. Extras Casting Atlanta is reportedly seeking models, actors, and other “talents” to play zombies and possible “survivor” extras in the upcoming TWD season.
The Walking Dead extras casting call notice said the show was seeking “men mid 20’s to 40 years old with firearms experience.” Another TWD casting call issued on July 9 said “runners” extras are also wanted.
“Ideal candidates are ‘men [ages] 20s to 40s, in good shape, all ethnicities,’ ” who “must be up for running a bit, [with] clean cut looks, but some facial hair can be okay.” Also, women who are willing to “be outside all day [with] some running involved.”
“I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos,” The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple said when discussing TWD Season 6. “Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live?”
A notice posted on Backstage.com also references the need for folks with very specific skills and equipment for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead.
“Background roles are being cast for this production, and candidates must have an American-made motorcycle. Submissions are being sought from Atlanta, Georgia. This is a paid gig!”
According to the Project Casting Facebook page, a Walking Dead casting call has also been issued for African American men to be stand-ins.
An excerpt follows, from The Walking Dead casting call notices issued for Season 6.
“The casting directors are now casting for extra and stand in roles for The Walking Dead. If you are interested in being a zombie please submit your information along with a recent photo and contact information. Please keep checking back for more information on casting dates, locations and times and as always leave us a comment and let us know what you thought of the first 4 seasons of the hit show.”
The casting call directors are reportedly extremely particular when deciding who gets to be a zombie or other extra on the series. To increase your chances of being selected at a The Walking Dead casting call, creating a “talent profile” with Extras Casting Atlanta is highly recommended.
