50 Cent Spotted With Huge Wad of Money Days Before Bankruptcy Filing

Rapper 50 Cent was reportedly spotted carrying around a large wad of money in his pocket days before he filed for bankruptcy.

According to TMZ, the 40-year-old rapper showed off the large wad while hosting a party last week in Atlantic City. The report states that 50 Cent was carrying nearly $5,000 in the wad, which he appears to have intentionally revealed through the top of his pants pocket.

Curtis Jackson III (“50 Cent”) reportedly filed for Chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Monday in Hartford, Connecticut. Jackson’s lawyer, William A. Brewer III, issued an official statement in reference to the purpose of the rapper’s decision to file for bankruptcy.

“This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer, while he pursues an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs.”

Multiple reports claim that the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ actor’s decision to file for bankruptcy likely had something to do with a legal dispute over a sex tape.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Monday was the day that 50 Cent was supposed to appear in a N.Y. state court.

The purpose of his court visit was to determine whether or not he owed punitive damages to Lastonia Leviston, the ex-girlfriend of rapper Rick Ross, from a lawsuit that she filed against him in 2010.

Leviston sued the Power producer for violating her privacy after he allegedly posted a sex tape of her online. Last week, a jury decided that 50 Cent should pay Leviston $5 million. However, 50 Cent’s lawyers apparently disputed the amount awarded through the verdict.

It did not take very long for 50 Cent to become the target of heavy criticism and mockery on Twitter after his bankruptcy filing was first confirmed.

Quite a few people believe that 50 Cent is not broke at all, but simply wants to use the bankruptcy protection to get away from paying the awarded damages.

The address listed on 50 Cent’s bankruptcy petition is the 21-bedroom mansion in Farmington, Connecticut, that has an eight-car garage, home movie theater, and racquetball court. Long before 50 Cent moved in, the home was owned by boxing legend Mike Tyson.
