‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Sequel Happening, Says John C. Reilly

Did you miss your favorite video game characters from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph? Well, you’ll be pleased to know that a sequel to the movie is in the works, and the good news came straight from the actor who plays Ralph, John C. Reilly.

In April, news of the sequel was reported by the Inquisitr, wherein the movie’s composer that Wreck-It Ralph 2 was in the early stages of development. Other than that, the composer was tight-lipped about the project.

On Sunday, John C. Reilly was in Ireland for the country’s leading film festival, the Galway Film Fleadh. In an interview, as reported by the Huffington Post, Reilly confirmed that he was “signed on” to work on the second Wreck-It Ralph movie.

Wreck-It Ralph, released in 2012, is about a videogame villain who wants to stop being a villain and start being a hero. Check out the trailer below.

Wreck-It Ralph was a success and grossed $471.2 million worldwide. The first movie featured the voices of stars including Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk, and Mindy Kaling. As of this post, there is no news yet if these actors and actresses will be lending their voice to the Wreck-It Ralph sequel.

News of the Wreck-It Ralph sequel gained a positive response, and the movie’s fans reacted on Twitter.

Rich Moore, the director of Wreck-It Ralph­, has stated through an interview with the Huffington Post in 2013 that he “would jump at the opportunity” to work on a sequel.

“I’ve talked with John and Sarah and we would all love to visit that world again and work with those characters again. We would jump at the opportunity. We’re all crossing our fingers about as far as you can cross them that we get a chance to do that.”

Aside from John C. Reilly confirming the news, one of the movie’s producers, Penny Hart, also confirmed the news through a tweet.
