Tori Spelling Moving: Reality Television Star Not Suffering Financial Problems, Source Claims

Tori Spelling is moving, but those close to the reality television star are denying rumors that she and husband, Dean McDermott, are being forced to downsize.

The couple move out of their Encino, California, house this week, prompting rumors that they had fallen on hard financial times. The move comes after Tori has spoken publicly about their money problems, saying last year that she and Dean live “paycheck to paycheck.”

But Tori Spelling is not moving to save money, a source said this week.

“Tori and Dean moved into a new house — it’s the same number of bedrooms and everything,” the source told Us Weekly. “They just moved because their lease was up, nothing more to it than that. It was not a downsizing thing.”

The reports revived some of the drama within the Spelling family. Tori’s father, producer Aaron Spelling, had a net worth of more than half a billion dollars when he died, but Tori claims she didn’t see any of it.

Last year Tori’s brother, Randy, opened up about the family’s money situation, acknowledging that Aaron’s will was “lopsided.”

“I don’t know what really happened with my father’s will,” Randy said during an interview one Oprah: Where Are They Now? “To a lot of people, [our inheritance] was probably out of balance, considering what he had. To my knowing, my sister and I got equal amounts.”

Randy, who lives with his family in Portland, Oregon, said he doesn’t mind that father Aaron Spelling didn’t leave him a fortune.

“Would it have been nice to have been left a whole lot of money? Yes,” he says. “[But] things happen the way they need to, and my life right now might look very different if I had $10 million sitting in the bank. So, I had to get my wings burned a little bit and fall to learn how to just live rather normally.”

Randy added that he and sister Tori aren’t that close, but didn’t say if the money had anything to do with it.

“Tori and I have an interesting relationship. It’s one of love that isn’t always as close as I would like it to be. [But] she’s really busy. She has a lot of stuff going on, and she’s managing four children and a career and a husband,” Randy says. “So, we stay in touch how we can, what works for us.”

While Tori Spelling may be moving out of her mansion, not a lot else in her life is changing. She is back with Dean McDermott after his cheating scandal and has another reality show on the way.
