Missing Monday Night Football? No need to wait for September 14 — watch live online this Monday as the Toronto Argonauts face the Calgary Stampeders in what looks like an explosive Monday Night matchup, Canadian Football League style. The game pits the 2-0 Argonauts led by the CFL’s best quarterback so far in 2015, Trevor Harris, against last year’s Grey Cup champions who have struggled to get on track in the new season.
To find out how to watch the Toronto Argonauts vs. Calgary Stampeders Monday Night Canadian Football League matchup, see the info at the bottom of this article. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Mountain Time on July 13 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta. That’s 9 p.m. Eastern Time, 6 p.m. Pacific.
Calgary comes into the game at 1-1, with a 10-day layoff since their lackluster 29-11 defeat to the lowly Montreal Alouettes. Now, they’ll need to find an answer to the aerial assault unleashed by 29-year-old Harris, who has mastered mastered Canada’s three-down, 12-man brand of football since signing with Toronto in 2012 after a pair of seasons in the Arena Football League.
Harris signed out of Edinboro Univeristy of Pennsylvania with the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010, but didn’t make the cut following the preseason. But NFL teams will be hard-pressed to ignore his gunslinging performance so far this year, completing a staggering 83 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns in the Argonauts first two games.
But Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, after leading the Stampeders to the Canadian Football League Grey Cup championship in his second year as a starter — and being named MVP of the Grey Cup Final — has faltered in the early going of this season’s 18-game schedule, throwing just a single touchdown pass against three interceptions after reaching the end zone 22 times last year while giving up just eight picks.
“It starts with me, being a second-year guy and having the year we had last year,” said Mitchell. “As the quarterback, the guy that touches the ball every play, that’s how I feel. I feel like it’s my job to go out there and make sure that as an offense, we do take that next step. Make games easier on our defense.”
