Lacazette has yet to decide where he will be playing his football next season. However, the 24-year-old stated it was his desire to play for a team that has already qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

“I have not made my decision. I will go on holiday, leave my agent to discuss things, for him to look after all that. I am not worried. As soon as I have decided, I want it all to happen quickly. Everything depends on the destination. It would have to be for a Champions League club.”

The statement could be viewed as a snub towards Liverpool, another club currently interested in signing last season’s leading goal-scorer in the French top division.

His coach, Hubert Fournier, has done nothing to quell the rumors of Lacazette moving away from the club.

“He is still under contract and the club is the decision maker. At no time have I felt a request to leave from him. Things can still change. It is early July. The sooner it is resolved, the better it will be for everyone.”

In other news, Arsenal has officially announced the squad number of new signing, Petr Cech. The goalkeeper will don the number 33 apparently because of his age and in recognition of playing 333 games the the Premier League.

It is clear Petr Cech is excited about the prospect of starting again with Thibaut Courtois dethroning the former Chelsea number one. At Arsenal, he is expected to start ahead of Szczesny and Ospina. The 33-year-old explained that he was happy to join a club with ambitions similar to his own.

“I’m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can’t wait to join up for pre-season. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League. When Arsène Wenger spoke to me about his ambitions for this club, and how he saw me as part of this team, the decision was clear.”
