Bryan Cranston Tells The Best ‘Your Mother’ Joke In History, Then Literally Drops The Mic

Bryan Cranston may have just told the best “your mother” joke in history, delivering a straight-faced diss that would even make Walter White shudder.

The Breaking Bad star was appearing at San Diego Comic-Con this week when a young fan asked about his experiences filming the show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“My question is — because I grew up in Albuquerque — was there any cool places, anything that you liked being there? How was it?” the fan asked (via Us Weekly). “It’s my hometown, so I want to know. How’d you like it? Did you have fun there?”

Bryan Cranston’s response was downright vicious. “Yeah, I’d go and visit your mother once in a while.”

The Comic-Con crowd erupted in applause, and Cranston did the only thing anyone can do after delivering such a perfect and out-of-nowhere diss — he dropped the mic.

The joke went viral pretty immediately, with the video shooting to the top of Reddit and reverberating across Twitter.

Cranston had a reason to be at Comic-Con beside ragging on fans. He was promoting his new Crackle series called SuperMansion, an animated comedy about an aging superhero who leads a less-than-stellar team of heroes trying to fight crime.

Though the “your mother” joke got plenty of press, Bryan Cranston actually has a great reputation for his fans and knows exactly what they’re looking for.

Hollywood Life noted:

“Bryan has made a habit of not taking himself too seriously, and he recently shocked fans at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas on June 21 by showing up to the event as Walter White!”

“Bryan stunned onlookers by jumping up on the podium alongside EDM group Above & Beyond. In front of thousands of fans, he said the iconic character’s most famous phrase. “Say my name,” he roared, much to the delight of the crowd.”

Fans seemed to like his “your mother” joke as well. A poll by Hollywood Life found that more than 80 percent of people responding found Cranston’s joke “funny and good spirited” rather than “mean.”

The viral burn wasn’t the only “your mother” joke that Bryan Cranston turned in. Later he was asked what he liked best about Comic-Con, and he said it was the fans — but one in particular. Cranston said, “I love you guys. But, I will say, I love his mother more. A little bit more.”
