The Force is slowly taking over the Twitter world with the new lightsaber emoji, which was announced on the Star Wars official Twitter account on Friday. All you need to do is use the hashtag #lightsaber for the lightsaber to appear, according to Time.

The new lightsaber design was a topic of controversy when it was first seen. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the lightsaber’s new design was met with criticism and was even the subject of many internet memes. As Tech Times reports, the new lightsaber emoji is part of the promotion for the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, which is slated to hit theaters on December 17, 2015. The lightsaber isn’t the first emoji released to promote Star Wars. Back in April, three Star Wars emojis were released including C3PO (#C3PO), a stormtrooper (#stormtrooper), and ball-droid BB8 (#BB8). In addition to the lightsaber emoji, you can also use the Kylo Ren (#kyloren) emoji.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still five months away, so we might to see more of these Star Wars emojis in the coming months.
