Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Bastian Schweinsteiger Set To Join Red Devils
Bastian Schweinsteiger has informed his current employers, Bayern Munich, that he intends to join Manchester United this summer on a three-year deal. It is understood that Bayern Munich will not stand in Schweinsteiger’s way should Manchester United agree to the £15 million valuation of the 30-year-old World Cup winner, which is expected to be accepted by the Old Trafford club.
Similar to Memphis Depay, Schweinsteiger’s relationship with Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal was said to be an important factor behind his decision to agreeing an offer from Manchester United. Schweinsteiger is set to complete a medical check within the coming weeks after verbally agreeing to join Manchester United. Bastian Schweinsteiger offers a wealth of experience after winning the World Cup in 2014 along with a collection of League titles and his solitary UEFA Champions League triumph.
Bastian Schweinsteiger was keen on moving away from Bayern Munich after the emergence of Thiago Alcantara whom he feared would take his position within the starting eleven come the start of next season. While Manchester United looks set to wrap up a deal for Schweinsteiger, it is rumored that even if that transfer is finalized, the club will still push to sign Southampton’s Morgan Schneirderlin.
If United get Schweinsteiger (which looks on) they will still sign Schneiderlin. Full midfield overhaul – and pretty formidable #MUFC

Manchester United is also set to complete the signing of Italian defender Matteo Darmian after Louis Van Gaal confirmed that he hopes the 25-year-old will complete his medical in time for the clubs departure to the United States for a pre-season tour. Darmian is set to cost £12.5 million after spending the past four years at Italian club Torino.

While the Red Devils continue to make a splash in the transfer market, Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is no closer to joining Real Madrid, despite reports of Real Madrid’s stalwart Iker Casillas close to signing for Portuguese club FC Porto. Manchester United is still holding out for a deal that would allow for cash to be exchanged for David De Gea along with Sergio Ramos.
Will Bastian Schweinsteiger become a great signing for Manchester United?
