WWE News: Mick Foley Praises Cesaro, Says Cesaro Would Make A Great WWE World Champion

WWE superstar Cesaro has been receiving a lot of praise over the last two weeks due to his excellent United States Championship matches with John Cena. There have been some arguments about which match was better, this week’s or last week’s, but many fans can agree that they were both great, and Cesaro is a big reason why the two matches ended up being RAW classics.

There has been some talk that — due to his performances over the last two weeks — Cesaro will finally get the push to the top of WWE that he has deserved since he made his WWE main roster debut in 2012, and it appears that the WWE decision makers aren’t the only ones who have finally recognized Cesaro’s talent, as WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley had some very kind words for him, which he said on his Facebook page earlier today.

“I used to think that Cesaro was a guy who would have made a great world-champion in a BYGONE era – a champion in the mold of a Lou Thesz, a Harley Race, a Jack Brisco, a Dory Funk Jr. But after seeing Cesaro in action these past few weeks, I’ve changed my mind, Cesaro would make a great world-champion in ANY era, including the PRESENT WWE era!”

“I’d love to see Cesaro added into the Kevin Owens John Cena mix at some point – possibly at Summerslam.”

It’s unlikely that Cesaro will be added to the John Cena vs. Kevin Owens match at next Sunday’s Battleground show, but it’s possible that he’ll be added to their rematch at SummerSlam, or be a challenger for the United States Championship in the future, whether the champion is John Cena or Kevin Owens.

There have been times in the past where WWE has seemingly began a Cesaro push, like at last year’s WrestleMania 30 when he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and then they changed their mind a couple of weeks later. Many feel that now is the time to pull the trigger on a Cesaro push, as this could be the last opportunity WWE has at making him a main-event level star.

Whether WWE ends up getting behind Cesaro or not, he’s definitely proven in the past, and over the past two weeks that he belongs in the WWE main-event scene. The fans have clearly gotten behind him, and with his tag-team partner Tyson Kidd being out-of-action for the foreseeable future, it’s the perfect time to get behind the “Swiss Superman.”
