Ben Higgins Lies To ‘Bachelorette’ Kaitlyn Bristowe, Is His Fantasy Suite Confession A Deal Breaker?

Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is down to her final three guys, with two more Fantasy Suite dates to go before hometowns. Ben Higgins, who has managed to stay drama-free all season, will shake things up on Week 8 (July 13) when he admits during his overnight date that he told a lie earlier in the season.

What is the lie, and will it make Kaitlyn think twice about moving ahead to hometown dates with Ben? What Ben reveals to Kaitlyn during his overnight date is not earth-shattering, but it could be a factor in her decision to make him one of her final two picks.

No, Ben is not a virgin.

According to ABC, Ben reveals that he didn’t tell the truth about his age during their first one-on-one date. He admitted at that time to being 26, but he apparently hadn’t celebrated his birthday yet — he turned 26 at some point after they filmed the date, but while he was still on the show.

During their overnight date, Ben admits to Kaitlyn that he wasn’t going to admit to the little lie because he didn’t want his real age to play a part in her decision making process.

“You wanna hear something crazy? My birthday was on this show. I wasn’t gonna tell you! I was worried, because we never talked about age. And I was like, ‘I don’t want her to think it’s an issue with me because it’s not at all… I just didn’t want age to ever be a question to you, because I knew there was a difference, but I’d be thrilled to be with you.”

Hiding his age definitely showed that he was insecure about their age difference — Kaitlyn is 30 — and while the age difference is not big at all, perhaps it was yet another red flag for the Bachelorette as she tried to make a decision about who the final rose will go to.

[Spoilers ahead]

There are only two roses to give out after all three guys are done enjoying time with Kaitlyn in their respective fantasy suites. According to Reality Steve‘s spoilers, things don’t go well for Ben when it’s time for Kaitlyn to say goodbye to one of her final three guys.

Whether it was the age factor (which wasn’t much of a lie), or she simply had more chemistry with Nick and Shawn, spoilers indicate that Kaitlyn decides to send Ben home during the Week 9 rose ceremony.

For fans who can’t get enough of Ben Higgins, there’s a chance he may have a new reality TV gig coming up. During an interview with E!, host Chris Harrison hinted that we may see “more of Ben in the future.”

Does that mean the handsome 26-year-old will be handing out roses in 2016? Expect the big announcement to happen either on the After the Final Rose special (July 27), or shortly before filming starts for the 20th season of the Bachelor in mid-September.
