‘Ghostbusters’: Reboot Photos And Video From Paul Feig Show Cast In Full Costume, Ecto-1, And Ecto-2

Little bits of info and news about the all-female Ghostbusters reboot has been making its way online, and a lot of it has come from director Paul Feig himself. Well, even more has come out in the last two days and it includes pictures of the full cast in full costume (jumpsuits), the new Ecto-1, and the official debut of the Ecto-2.

One of the coolest things so far is the reveal of the four Ghostbusters in full costume. Feig tweeted out an image with the hashtag #whoyougonnacall and it shows stars Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon in front of Ecto-1.

When the Ghostbusters reboot was first thought up, many rumors had it that Wiig would sort of take over the role of Egon Spengler, which was played by the late Harold Ramis. It was then thought that McKinnon would take on the role played by Bill Murray, which was Peter Venkman.

By the looks of this first cast photo with them in costume, it appears as if those roles will be reversed and that makes sense. Wiig can take on the comedic stylings of a female-type Venkman while McKinnon looks as she if she is a female version of Egon.

As Collider reported, the new version of Proton Packs had been revealed recently, and closer looks are available at the San Diego Comic-Con 2015. Then, we got our first look at the new Ecto-1, and it’s similar to, but different than the original.

In the original Ghostbusters, Ray (Dan Aykroyd) took a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance and converted it into Ecto-1. This new version appears to be a 1984 Cadillac Wagon, but sort of resembles an old hearse more than anything.

Even though the Ecto-1 has plenty of room, it appears as if the new Ghostbusters will have a second vehicle as well. Instagram user nerdtastic_girl got some photos of the new motorcrycle that will debut in the movie and it’s called Ecto-2.

Screen Rant has also found a couple of videos from the set that show Ecto-1 in action. The videos show the cast riding in the vehicle with Kate McKinnon driving and Kristen Wiig being confused as to how to get into Ecto-1.

The reboot of Ghostbusters with an all-female lead cast also stars Chris Hemsworth, Cecily Strong, Neil Casey, Michael K. Williams, and Andy Garcia. It is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016, and looks like it could be huge.

Ghostbusters is indeed getting the reboot treatment and will have all-female lead stars, but things seem to be running smoothly so far. The pics of Ecto-1 and the debut of Ecto-2 are making things interesting so it should be a fun ride until next year. Fans are now simply hoping that the legacy isn’t tarnished and keeps getting better.
