Lark Voorhies Defends Marriage, Husband Jimmy Green: Union Is For ‘All The Right Reasons’

Lark Voorhies defends her husband Jimmy Green and their new marriage even though her mother and many others worry about the pairing. Lark’s mother recently filed a restraining order against Green, but the former Saved by the Bell star is standing by her man. What’s the scoop?

Entertainment Tonight shares that the pair sat down for an interview and that Lark Voorhies defends Jimmy Green. Despite getting married in what seemed to be a bit of a rush, the two maintain that they wed for all the right reasons and that things are going well. Lark claims that when the two first married, her mother was supportive.

People reported in June that just days before Lark and Jimmy’s marriage was revealed publicly, her mother, Patricia, got a temporary restraining order against 31-year-old Green. Patricia says that Green argues with her frequently and throws gang signs into the mix when things get difficult. Apparently Green and Lark’s mother had agreed that he would be out of her house every evening, but she has found him sleeping in the house, including in a closet once. TMZ reported that he did not respond well when she found him there.

Though Voorhies has denied she is facing any mental health issues, fans have been worried for some time now, and Lark’s mother says that the former actress is under a doctor’s care and is dealing with mental and emotional issues. Patricia is also said to be concerned because Jimmy has been a member of the Bloods gang, and he’s also got some outstanding legal issues in Arizona related to a 2012 incident where he allegedly threatened to kill a man.

Lark and Jimmy met via Facebook in 2014 and wed in a Las Vegas ceremony in April. Though her family has urged her to dissolve the marriage, Lark Voorhies defends her man. She says that he’s not taking advantage of her, and it seems he denies that he’s been anything more than demanding and blunt with her mother.

The couple denies that Green has been aggressive “enough” to warrant a restraining order, and Lark phrases it that he’s simply been “powerfully spoken” toward Patricia. Though Lark’s mother has previously said that her daughter has been diagnosed as being bi-polar, the former Saved by the Bell star denies that to be the case. She says she dealt with depression when her first marriage failed, but that’s it.

Green says that the couple is “in love and trying to accomplish business together,” and he adds that the relationship is “not a scam or a way to get money.” Voorhies, meanwhile, describes their union as one where they are “selectively together for all the right reasons.” They say they’re the same as any couple in love, but fans remain worried about the situation.

The two add that Lark is helping Jimmy pursue a singing career and that they are working on creating an album. While Lark has been living with her mother for some time now, there is no conservatorship or anything of the sort in place it seems. At this point, many wonder if that may be a necessary step for Patricia to consider. Despite Lark Voorhies defending her husband and marriage, many Saved by the Bell fans remain concerned for the star and hope that this situation does not become unsafe.
