MTV Star Leah Messer Is Frustrated With Jeremy Calvert’s Work Ethic

MTV star Leah Messer was frustrated with her husband Jeremy Calvert’s work schedule during last night’s Teen Mom 2 Season 6 premiere. On the show, fans watched as the couple sat down for some alone time — their first in six months — and discussed how Calvert’s work ethic was standing in the way of a healthy marriage.

“You have to set work aside and put your family first for once,” the MTV star told her husband during the show, according to an Us Weekly report on July 9.

Since the MTV star began dating Calvert, whom she ultimately split from last month (although Calvert filed for divorce in November 2014, their agreement wasn’t finalized until June 2015), he has worked as a pipe layer, and is often forced to be out of town for weeks at a time working. While his busy schedule is simply the nature of his business, Messer was clearly fed up with her husband’s absence during last night’s new episode, especially after learning it would keep him from attending marriage counseling.

“Even if you had the most money in the world, you would still put your job before us.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the MTV star’s strained relationship with Calvert was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to her Season 6 issues. During an interview with Perez Hilton earlier this month, Messer’s Teen Mom 2 co-stars, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Jenelle Evans, candidly spoke of the MTV star, revealing she had failed to contact them in recent weeks (Messer also skipped out on MTV press day).

“We wish her the best of luck… I think because we haven’t talked to her, we’re not entirely sure what she’s going through right now, and being that we all live in different states it is hard for her to reach out to us because it’s not like we can just go to her house and help her out,” Lowry explained of the MTV star, whom she used to be close friends with (Lowry attended Messer and Calvert’s wedding in 2012).

Evans added, “I can definitely related because I went though an issue she went through… I wish she would reach out to us more, just so we could talk. I think she wants to keep as much privacy as she can.”
