Taylor Swift $50K Gift To Little Girl With Cancer Forces Change In Policy For GoFundMe Site

Taylor Swift’s $50K gift has forced the fundraising site GoFundMe to change their policies.

Earlier this week, Taylor donated a $50,000 gift to a little girl named Naomi, who is currently battling Leukemia. Because of the amount of Swift’s generous donation, the site has decided to amend their donating limits.

GoFundMe’s previous individual donations were limited to $15,000. Now, because of Taylor Swift, they have upped that number to $50,000.

“Taylor Swift’s donation was so generous that it required us to increase the donation limit on the platform,” GoFundMe’s CEO Rob Solomon said.

He added, “What Ms. Swift has done for Naomi and others can inspire the next generation of giving.”

Naomi’s GoFundMe page, titled “Naomi’s Fight Against Cancer,” has raised nearly $74,000 so far, more than doubling their original goal of $30,000. Naomi’s family had previously posted a video on social media, with Naomi referring to Swift’s song “Bad Blood” as her theme song. The family also noted that she would have to miss one of Swift’s concerts due to battling her illness, Page Six reports.

After learning about the family’s video, Swift decided to do something special for the little girl. Because GoFundMe only allowed a total of $15,000 to be donated at a time, Swift made three $15,000 donations and one $5,000 donation.

“To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts,” Taylor Swift wrote alongside her $50,000 gift. “Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.”

After learning of Swift’s donation, the family told Naomi the exciting news and filmed her emotional reaction. Check it out below.

“Naomi was so amazed by Taylor Swift’s donation and amazing shout out to her,” Naomi’s family wrote on her fundraising page. “Thank you Taylor Swift. You’re an amazing caring person, and our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.”

While Taylor’s rep says she doesn’t confirm her donations, Swift has been known to donate to families in need before.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, last month Taylor generously donated $15,000 to a firefighter who responded to an emergency that involved his wife and son.
