Jackie Fuchs Raped By Kim Fowley: Runaways Bassist Alleges Sexual Assault By Former Manager

Rockstar Jackie Fuchs, who served as the bassist for The Runaways for a brief period in the 1970s, claims she was raped by the band’s manager, Kim Fowley, one night in 1975, the Huffington Post is reporting.

In 1975, Jackie Fuchs was a 16-year-old girl, thrust into fame as the bassist for Joan Jett’s band The Runaways, performing under the name “Jackie Fox.” The former straight-A student and Southern California surfing enthusiast was now caught up in the Sunset Strip world of drugs, roadies, and a manager, Kim Fowley, who wasn’t above preying on young teen girls.

On December 31, 1975, says Fuchs, she and the band were staying at a seedy Orange County motel, when a roadie gave her a quaalude and some other pills. A friend describes the alleged rape, which took place in front of several witnesses, including Joan Jett herself.

“At some point, Jackie says she had to lie down on a bed to rest. She was having trouble staying upright. When a roadie checked to see if she was OK, Fowley asked him if he was interested in having sex with her. ‘She doesn’t mind,’ Fowley said. ‘Do you?’

Jackie tried to protest, but she was frozen. ‘You don’t know what terror is until you realize something bad is about to happen to you and you can’t move a muscle,’ she says. ‘I can’t move. I can’t speak. All I can do is look him in the eye and do the best I can do to communicate: Please say no…. I don’t know what it looked like from the outside. But I know what was going on inside and it was horror.’ The roadie declined Fowley’s offer, and soon after, Jackie says she started to slip in and out of consciousness.”

Then, according to the New York Daily News, Fowley raped her.

“I remember opening my eyes, Kim Fowley was raping me, and there were people watching me.”

Now comfortably in her mid-50s and living quietly in the Hollywood Hills, Jackie Fuchs says she decided to come clean with her rape allegations against Fowley because of the publicity surrounding comedian Bill Cosby, who several women have also alleged gave them quaaludes and sexually assaulted them, according to this Inquisitr report.

It should be noted that Kim Fowley is not around to respond to Jackie Fuch’s rape allegations against him; he died earlier this year.
