Bill Cosby Gets Removed From Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Sort Of

By now, you’ve probably heard Bill Cosby’s name being spread all over the media, but what you may not know is why. Cosby is charged with sexual misconduct against several women, a crime to which he confessed under oath. Cosby admitted during an in-court deposition that he was guilty of obtaining sedatives with the intent to use them on women he wanted to sleep with. Disney has shown that they obviously don’t agree with the way Cosby conducted himself and will be removing the comedian’s statue from a park of theirs.

In the wake of the controversy, Cosby’s statue is being removed from a section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that pays tribute to TV legends. WESH Orlando spoke to Brittany Gavrilova, whose aunt was one of the women reportedly targeted by Cosby.

“Especially now that a document has been released where he has admitted to it, I don’t think that someone like that should be placed on a pedestal, especially where people bring their families,” Gavrilova told WESH.

Andrea Constand, another of Cosby’s purported victims, has been fighting a legal war to get the full details of Cosby’s deposition released to the public, as Inquisitr noted. That battle is still on-going. There is a chance Cosby will not be convicted on these crimes as he obtained the sedatives in the 1970s and the statute of limitations on Bill’s crime has run out. Criminal Defense Attorney Benjamin Braffman talked to Time Magazine about the case, citing lack of proof that Cosby ever gave the drugs to anyone against their will.

“Quaalude was the love drug of choice in those years. Doctors were lawfully prescribing it in those years.”

Even if he escapes legal charges, however, Cosby will still have to face attacks from the public and confrontation with the women he has victimized. Cosby’s talent agency has already dropped him, and one of Bill’s presumed victims is demanding an apology from him. Whoopi Goldberg has also been taking fire for defending Cosby before he admitted to his offenses.

Surprisingly enough, Twitter has been abuzz with support for Cosby, even calling him a “legend” and a “hero.” Cosby’s personal Twitter account thanked Whoopi Goldberg and musician Jill Scott for standing by him before and during the trial. Cosby’s statue will be removed from Hollywood Studios this Tuesday night after the park has closed. Do you believe there is enough evidence to convict Cosby? Should the testimony of dozens of women be considered enough to make a case against Bill Cosby? Let us know what you think.
