Stockholm Ranked Top of 10 Cities With Best-Looking Men

Which cities have the best-looking men?

This crucial and scientific question has finally – finally – been answered by travel mag Traveler’s Digest, with its newly-published list of where the world’s most head-turning men reside.

While its methodology appears a little loose (by that, I mean it doesn’t seem to have a methodology – the only hint given is that this line-up of ten cities is based solely on the choices of women), Traveler’s Digest confidently crowned Swedish capital Stockholm as the hub for hotties.* It’s full top ten, which contained only one American city, is as follows:

1. Stockholm
2. New York
3. Amsterdam
4. Lisbon
5. Buenos Aires
6. Sydney
7. Madrid
8. Berlin
9. Milan
10. Tel Aviv

Incredibly for a travel magazine, these appear to be mostly holiday-friendly destinations! Indeed, seven are capitals.

Anyway, the Euro-centric list doesn’t stretch beyond ten, so it’s impossible to see where your own home city lies (in my case, Manchester, England – I’d take a top 400 spot). But ten should be enough to be getting on with for any lady travelers who like their tourist attactions to be on the dishy side.

So what is it about Stockholm’s men, exactly? The magazine explains it thus:

“Swedish men have long been misunderstood. Case in point: they are often stereotyped as cold, emotionally distant loners and inexplicably mistaken for Swiss guys. On the plus side, they are also generally considered aesthetically pleasing due to their fine-boned Nordic attributes and exceptional height advantage. Although there always seems to be some truth to these types of classifications, in the case of these Scandinavian studs, the deeper reality is quite a pleasant surprise. Your average man in Stockholm is an impeccably-dressed clotheshorse that truly indulges in the enjoyment of the finer things in life: from food to fashion, culture to hearth.”

* Okay, I’m cheating a bit with the Fredrik Ljungberg picture – the footballer was actually born in Vittsjö, 400km south of Stockholm.
