Bill Murray Makes Comic Con Debut, Is The Coolest Panel Guest Ever

Earlier the Inquisitr reported that Bill Murray was scheduled to hit up San Diego’s Comic Con.

We didn’t exactly know what would happen, just that he would be there to promote his new film, Rock The Kasbah. We didn’t even know if he would participate in a Q&A. Well, as it turns out Bill Murray proved again that he’s absolutely the best.

Rocking a bandana and a colorful shirt, Bill Murray arrived not as himself, but as his character Richie Lanz in the film Rock The Kasbah. Awesome promo tactic for both Murray and the studio behind the film. His entrance at Hall H was legendary, as he walked into the classic song “Smoke on the Water.”

During the discussion Murray threw a bottle of water at the crowd so they could keep hydrated after a long day (and night) or standing in line to see him. As the panel got underway, Murray flipped back to himself, which is a character all of his own, and answered questions. When the moderator of the discussion what took him so long to get to Comic Con, the actor said, “I don’t know. I’ve done some good [movies]. I’ve done some comical ones, for sure. And I’ve done some that I maybe should have been convicted for.”

As for his working style, don’t expect Murray to go all method actor on a set. From the way he tells it, it sounds like being on set with Bill is a very pleasant experience. “We try to be relaxed as possible. That’s the way I like to work. It makes people feel comfortable. I came from Chicago, the Second City theater. We were taught you don’t have to get tense while working. Worry about making other people look good. And everybody relaxes.” When you get Murray down for an interview there’s bound to be some shocking omissions due to the actor’s candid and funny nature. One of those moments came when he admitted that he listens to Miley Cyrus of all people. “I’m gonna say this officially: Miley Cyrus is good. Miley Cyrus is really f—ing good. She can really sing. I thought she was a knucklehead, funny girl. She can really sing and she floored everybody. I don’t want to hear anymore bad rap for Miley Cyrus. Not Miley Cyrus. She’s a pro. We’ll leave [the bad rap] for Rick Ross.” Here’s a few reactions to Bill Murray at Comic Con:
