Giuliana Rancic Leaving ‘E! News,’ Will Return To ‘Fashion Police’

Giuliana Rancic is leaving E! News. The host will exit the show as a regular news anchor starting August 10, but will continue her hosting duties on the network’s show Fashion Police and will remain the co-host of E!’s Live From The Red Carpet.

E! revealed that Giuliana Rancic is leaving the celebrity news show and Rancic herself released a statement about her decision to exit.

“For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show. At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level. This is such a thrilling time for me and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.”

Hollywood Life reports that Rancic’s decision to quit the show comes only a few short months after she was highly criticized for making what some called racist and/or inappropriate remarks about Zendaya on Fashion Police, saying that her hair, done in dreadlocks at the time, looked like it would smell like patchouli or weed.

Giuliana Rancic immediately apologized for the remarks after being blasted by Zendaya and many other celebrities, including her Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne. Giuliana and Kelly engaged in a public feud and Osbourne abruptly left the show.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kelly Osbourne was rumored to join her mother as a co-host on The Talk. Kelly has always been known to be very opinionated, and seeing her give her opinions alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne, would likely be great for ratings as well as for fans who loved the mother-and-daughter duo on the family’s former reality TV series, and like seeing them interact on a regular basis.

“Sharon is trying to cut a deal with The Talk. She wants to share the job with Kelly.”

Meanwhile, fans will surely miss seeing Giuliana Rancic on their television screens on a daily basis, but knowing that she’ll return to Fashion Police and continue her red carpet interviews for the E! Network will help to ease the loss that fans will feel about her absence.
