Tim Tebow Rumors: Jersey Sales Still Strong For Tebow With Philadelphia Eagles, Selling Better Than Tony Romo, Marshawn Lynch

Tim Tebow rumors reveal his jersey sales are still very good. Tebow is with the Philadelphia Eagles now, wearing the No. 11 jersey for the 2015 NFL season. A report from CBS Sports on Wednesday (July 8) reveals that Tebow’s jersey is the 16th best seller in the NFL right now. It’s very impressive because it not only means his jersey is selling better than every other player on the Eagles, but it is also beating out some stars of the game.

In the month of June, Tebow’s jersey sold better than Ndamukong Suh, Marshawn Lynch, Tony Romo, and Calvin Johnson. That’s just a partial list, though, as most of the NFL is ranked behind him right now. As for the top sellers for the month of June, those were Odell Beckham Jr., Marcus Mariota, Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick, and Aaron Rodgers (in that order). Brady just won another Super Bowl, Beckham has become one of the more popular players in the league, and Mariota was just selected in the 2015 NFL Draft.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there had been a number of Tim Tebow rumors when the NFL offseason began, but it turned out to be the Philadelphia Eagles ready to give him another shot. After spending some time in the broadcasting booth rather than on the field, it has seemed like a longshot for Tebow to make the Week 1 roster. Early reports out of camp indicate that he has a real shot at making the roster for the Eagles, though, which could be why his jersey sales continue to do so well.

The last time that Tebow saw action on an NFL field was during the 2012 season with the New York Jets. He appeared in 12 games, but at very limited action. He was used a number of times at fullback, giving the offense a different look when he was on the field. For the season, he finished 6-of-8 in passing for 39 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Tebow also ran for 102 yards on 32 carries, good for an average of just 3.2 yards per carry. Again, he did not get in the end zone. His overall numbers have fallen very far from what he did for the Denver Broncos in the 2011 NFL season.

Despite the lack of prolonged success in the NFL, it’s interesting that Tebow can still sell so many jerseys just due to his personality. His fans are very loyal, following him no matter what team he happens to sign with. While there are likely to be more Tim Tebow rumors about what his ultimate role with the Philadelphia Eagles is going to be, for now fans can remain hopeful he will get another shot to be a starting quarterback in the league.
