Justin Bieber, Jack U’s ‘Where Are Ü Now’ Storms Into Hot 100 Top 10 And Beliebers Are Overjoyed

Justin Bieber, Skrillex, and Diplo’s “Where Are Ü Now” has soared into the official Top 10 in the U.S.

Arriving in Billboard’s Hot 100’s Top 10 for the very first time, Skrillex and Diplo’s “Where Are Ü Now,” which was co-penned and performed by Justin Bieber, surges up from No. 17 to No. 8 and follows the release of the art-packed music video on June 29.

According to Billboard, Jack Ü’s (as Diplo and Skrillex are collectively known) and Bieber’s collaborative banger surged from No. 15 to No. 5 on Streaming Songs, No. 13 to No. 12 on Digital Songs, and shifted from No.19 to No. 17 on the Radio Songs chart.

The single’s new position is a Hot 100 Top 10 debut for the EDM kings as artists, while the Biebs notches up his sixth time in the Top 10. The last time the 21-year-old breathed such rarefied air was with “Beauty and a Beat,” which featured Nicki Minaj and peaked at No. 5 in 2013.

Elsewhere on Billboard, “Where” is now back at No.1 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, throwing off David Guetta’s “Hey Mama” (featuring Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack). Jack Ü and Bieber’s jam previously ruled the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for 11 weeks.

The music video-fueled ascension of the single comes after last week’s news that Jack Ü and Bieber’s surprise hit had been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A). Nielsen reports the single punched in a 66 percent gain (translating as 10.7 million) in weekly streaming activity after the stunning visual dropped.

The single’s Hot 100 shiny, new placement is reportedly also the result of an 8 percent increase in sales (78,000) and a 6 percent rise in radio audience (59 million).

For the week ahead and foreseeable, it’s possible Bieber’s Internet-breaking, naked butt shot — which has now been liked by over 2 million people — may also bump “Where’s” Hot 100 chart progress.

Within one hour of the Canadian singer posting his saucy selfie from a boat deck in Bora Bora on Monday, over 600,000 Instagram users “liked” the photo, along with over 300,000 comments. Within two hours, another 250,000 fans “liked” the shot. And in just under three hours, Bieber’s full moon snap prompted over one million to express their unequivocal love for his naked butt share.

Following Billboard’s report on “Where’s” Top 10 rise, Justin Bieber fans took to Twitter to express their joy over the achievement.
