Matthew McConaughey Dogged By Divorce Rumors
After the break-up last week of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, the rumor mill is churning to suggest the marriage of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves is in big trouble. The buzz about non-stop fighting, and McConaughey being pushed into the marriage, seems to be getting louder and louder.
In 2014, the Inquisitr reported that McConaughey was settling into married life with kids.
“They understand that papa goes to work, that there’s a difference between reality and movies, and that he can be in more than one place at a time. I took Levi to set on Lincoln Lawyer and let him watch a scene and then let him watch it on the monitor, and for him it was a magic trick—you can be in more than one place at one time.”
Hollywood Life is reporting that if Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves divorce, the amount at stake is a whopping $125 million dollars. So what could cause McConaughey to risk so much money?
“He’d rather she focus on family life,” the insider told OK! Magazine. “At this point,” the source says, “they have major problems to work through.”
Matthew McConaughey has also been very public, sometimes tongue-in-cheek, with the fact that he had to be dragged to the altar.
“I had to get to the point where I saw it as more than just the thing to do,” Matthew told GQ on marriage to his wife. “I wanted to really want to. You know, I didn’t want it to be a destination; the fun is that we’re on the adventure together. And look, some of it had to do with her putting it on me. It took her going, ‘C’mon, Big Boy, Mr. Easygoing-We’ll- Get-to-It-When-We-Get-to-It. Either s**t or get off the pot.’ ”

But representatives for the couple deny the rumors, suggesting it is just their turn as a celebrity couple to be in the gossip spotlight. Their statement read that Matthew McConaughey couldn’t be more supportive of anything Alves does. Additionally, the rep reported that there is no truth to the statement that McConaughey and Alves are “on the rocks,” or fighting about her launching her own public career.
The couple are parents to three children, and married in 2012. Their official statement is that they are happily married.
