Domestic Violence Victim, Mother Of Two, Posts Heartbreaking Video Of Her Black Eye To Bring Awareness

A domestic violence victim posted a heartbreaking video, which shows the results of a beating she allegedly suffered at the hands of her ex. The mother of two young children says she decided to share her story to inspire other women in similar situations.

Emma Murphy, a resident of Dublin, Ireland, says she struggled as to whether she should tell her story to the world.

“I thought long and hard before posting this video, this is very difficult for me but I have to do what is RIGHT, if you or anyone you know has it is in a similar situation please share this video to inspire other women around the world, violence is NOT the answer!!!!”

Looking understandably distraught after her latest bout with domestic violence at the hands of the same man who allegedly “split my head open last year” while at an event and other such incidents, Murphy opened up about her difficult situation and how to explain to her kids why their father — who she thought was the love of her life — is not around.

“For the last year and a half, I’ve been told that I’m paranoid, I’m a psycho, I’m nuts, my insecurities will kill me one day.

Unfortunately, when they ask where their daddy is, he’s not going to be around, he’s not going to be here for them anymore. Our lives are completely torn apart and they’re going to know that their daddy hit their mummy, and that’s not something that children should see at all.

So if anyone out there has gone through something similar to what I’ve gone through, you need to find the courage and get away from anything that’s an unhealthy as violence. Go to your friends and family, people who love you and care about you.”

Her Facebook post has received overwhelming support, with thousands of strangers supporting the domestic violence victim for her courage in putting herself in the public eye. Almost 169,000 people have liked her video on Facebook, and it has been shared more than 108,000 times.

Many of the comments are from other women and men who have suffered domestic violence from either a partner or a father, and share their stories of emotional and physical abuse. One such person is a user named Dave Fields, who says, in part, as follows.

“I’m shaking with rage watching this video.

I’m 35 years old now, I grew up with a violent dad in the house who literally kicked my mother, me, and my sister around for many years, physical and emotional abuse.

I still have nightmares and wake up thinking my Dad is beating me in my sleep – it took my mother over 11 years to do what you did…”
