New York Knicks Rumors: Summer League Roster Revealed For Knicks, Kristaps Porzingis Headlines Players

New York Knicks rumors have revealed the NBA Summer League roster for the team. The Knicks are going to begin play on Saturday (July 11) against the San Antonio Spurs, giving several key young players a chance to show what they can do. A report from NBA.com showcases who some of the big names from the roster are this summer. Leading the way are Kristpas Porzingis and Jerian Grant, the two top-notch players that the Knicks got in the 2015 NBA Draft. Both players look to have a big impact, not just in the NBA Summer League, but also the 2015-16 regular season.

Langston Galloway, hot off getting selected to the 2015 NBA All-Rookie Second Team, is also a main component of this roster. So are 2014 NBA Draft picks Cleanthony Early, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and Louis Labeyrie. All these players should see heavy minutes during most of the summer games, allowing the coaches to get a good look at them on the court. Several of these players could also be competing for open roster spots that the Knicks still have after president Phil Jackson nearly gutted the roster. Watching Galloway on the same court as Porzingis and Grant could be a lot of fun.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Knicks garnered some good grades for their recent draft choices, even though fans attending the draft weren’t too impressed. A number of other moves in free agency have dominated recent New York Knicks rumors, as Jackson has agreements with Robin Lopez, Derrick Williams, and Arron Afflalo to join the team. They will help give Carmelo Anthony a good supporting cast for the 2015-16 NBA season, and now head coach Derek Fisher has to see just what the young core will look like as well.

Other invitees to play for the Knicks in the Las Vegas Summer League are guard Jimmy Baron from Turkey, guard T.J. Bray from Italy, center Ovidijus Galdikas from Poland, Alex Kirk from the University of New Mexico, Ricky Ledo (player for the Knicks before), Ohio University forward Maurice Ndour, and Gulford College center Ben Strong. While some of these players are just there for roster-filler in Las Vegas, each player has the hopes of getting picked up by an NBA franchise. The team itself is well-rounded and could look really good on the court.

The Las Vegas Summer League Schedule for the Knicks begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 11, and continues through a tournament that will allow the successful teams even more time on the court. The three scheduled games to determine the seeding are against the San Antonio Spurs (July 11), Los Angeles Lakers (July 13), and Philadelphia 76ers (July 14). As additional New York Knicks rumors float around about the team trying to add more pieces, fans will be able to enjoy some games from the youth the roster has to offer.
