Caitlyn Jenner Responsibility: Caitlyn Blogs About Her ‘Responsibility’ To The Transgender Community

Caitlyn Jenner feels as though she has a responsibility to the transgender community. According to HNGN, Caitlyn Jenner recently started a blog, and in her first entry, she opened up about wanting to be a part of the group in a bigger way. She feels that her struggle can really help other people, but she wants to make sure that she’s doing everything right.

Caitlyn’s first entry was very candid. She opened up about that feeling of responsibility, and how she intends to carry it out.

“Up until now, I have totally isolated myself from the transgender community so I have a lot of catching up to do. I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story. To me, that’s always the biggest question: am I doing it right?”

Caitlyn Jenner might feel this sense of responsibility because she’s in the public eye. While there are many transgender people living in the world, celebrities who undergo such a life-changing thing become instant role models within the LGBTQ community. While some celebs aren’t constantly in the media, and attending events related to the cause, others — like Caitlyn — feel the need to take part in something much bigger than just their personal struggle.

Recently, Jenner posted a photo at a dinner with some new friends, all of whom have gone through something very similar to Caitlyn, who spent decades living as a man when she identified as a woman.

“A few weeks ago I had dinner with some of my new friends — a group of six Trans women — and I went around the table and asked each of them how long it had been since their transitions. One said 20 years, the other one said 15 years ago… seven years ago… three years ago… They came around to me and I said, ‘Two weeks.’ “

To many, Caitlyn Jenner taking on this responsibility is a great thing. Not only has she become her true self, but she’s also giving others the strength and the courage to be who they are. According to the SpreadIt, Caitlyn says that her journey so far has been “eye-opening.”

“I’ve already learned so much about this community, the issues, and the people involved. It’s been an eye-opening experience for me — mainly realizing how fortunate I am.”
