It seems that everything Robert Kirkman touches at the moment turns to gold. His latest venture, the big screen, will likely be just as successful. Air stars Norman Reedus and fans attending the San Diego Comic Con this week will be among the first to view the full-length trailer for Air.
Here’s the synopsis for Air from its IMDb page:
“Air is about two custodians who struggle to hold onto their sanity living in an underground bunker with cryogenically frozen people meant to re-populate society.”
Norman Reedus was keen to speak about his latest movie, set in a post-apocalyptic world, to Nerdist ahead of his upcoming Comic Con appearance for Air, describing him and fellow co-star, Djimon Hounsou, as basically two people performing the same job.
“Well they both basically have the same job. There’s different facets to that job. One of them is to maintain the environment that they’re living in and to keep these other people alive who are in their sleeping pods. But one of them sees himself as janitor, and the other one sees himself as a scientist.”
Reedus also describes Air as a very claustrophobic movie. Considering it revolves around himself and Hounsou for most of the movie, it is no wonder he found filming so intense.
“We’d be in the makeup trailer every morning and… It’s a two-person film primarily. You have no downtime at all. You never go to your trailer. You kind of just go from set to set.”
Norman Reedus stars in another of Robert Kirkman’s endeavors, the TV version of his comic book series, The Walking Dead. While Norman’s character, Daryl Dixon, doesn’t appear in the comic books, his character has grown on the small screen into one of the fan favorites. Alongside Reedus, another Kirkman alum also appears in Air. Sandrine Holt is a name Walking Dead fans won’t recognise – yet. However, she is slated to appear in the Walking Dead companion series, Fear The Walking Dead. She will play a character called Dr. Bethany Exner for at least three episodes of this series, which will premiere on AMC in August.
The panel for Air which will feature Robert Kirkman and Norman Reedus will be featured at San Diego Comic Con in Room 6BCF from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Thursday July 9, 2015. Norman Reedus will also be participating in the Walking Dead panel on Friday July 10, 2015.
Air will premiere on the big screen on August 14, 2015. Robert Kirkman is the producer of Air while Christian Cantamessa directed and wrote the screenplay alongside Chris Pasetto. You can check out the current trailer for Air below:
