Baby Doe Toddler: Boston Police Say 40 Million Have Viewed Baby Doe Photo, But Her Identity Is Still A Mystery


Baby Doe, the toddler found in Boston, still doesn’t have an identity, according to Massachusetts State Police. The most recent update on their Facebook page was from July 3 and states that they have received many tips, but that they still haven’t been able to I.D. the body of the 4-year-old girl. They have confirmed that they checked into a possible lead involving a missing West Virginia toddler, and they say that their Baby Doe is not a match.

“We are extremely grateful for the many tips we have received, and we ask the public to keep sharing this little girl’s photo and information so that we may continue to receive and follow up on leads. Many commenters have mentioned Aliayah Lunsford, the missing West Virginia girl. Please note that we have explored that lead and are confident that our little girl is not Aliayah. Thank you again and continue to send us your tips.”

The Baby Doe toddler has Boston police asking the public for help. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the child’s body was found in a trash bag on the shore of Deer Island on June 25 by a passerby walking a dog. Police do not know if the body was dumped in the ocean or just dropped off at the shore. It is also unclear how long the girl’s body had been dead before she was found.

The girl had brown eyes and brown hair, and she weighed about 30 pounds, according to the medical examiner. She was wearing white pants with black polka dots and had a zebra-patterned blanket with her.

The image above, which was computer generated, is being posted all over the internet and on news stations all over the country in an effort to make the public aware. Authorities hope someone will recognize the child, perhaps by her features.

According to Boston.com, 40 million people have viewed the photo of the little girl now known as “Baby Doe” and thousands of tips have poured in.

Any information about Baby Doe, or any missing toddler, baby, or child could help Boston area police officers solve this mystery.
