‘RHOA’ Casting Shake-Up: Cynthia Bailey Responds To NeNe Leakes Leaving, Plus Claudia Jordan Claims She Has Not Been Fired

The next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta is set to feature some major changes in cast members.

With NeNe Leakes confirming that she will no longer be a part of the reality series and the strong likelihood that Claudia Jordan will follow suit, the show is sure to have a completely different look as it heads into Season 8.

With so many changes in casting set to occur next season, Cynthia Bailey recently stated that she is looking forward to the new season and the changes it will bring.

“Well the show has never been about one person. It’s just not what makes it work,” Bailey told E! News. “Sometimes you gotta change it up and mix it up. I look forward to a really great drama-filled season.”

Bailey also revealed that she actually wasn’t surprised to learn that one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta original members was ready to call it quits. “You know, I wasn’t super surprised because I used to be very close with NeNe so I knew that at some point, she wanted to do other things and rightfully so because I think she has had a great run on the show.”

Bailey added that Leakes and her are still on good terms as the latter moves on to new projects. “We text back and forth… When I heard the news about her leaving the show, I shot her a text and said good luck to you. May you continue to shine. Do your thing so we are cool.”

Although Leakes may have left the show on her own terms, the same can’t be said of Jordan. Despite rumors that Jordan had been fired, the reality star is still holding out that her time on show isn’t over yet.

“No one called and said, ‘Hey, it’s a wrap.’ It didn’t happen,” Jordan explained to People. “Now, have I gotten my pick-up letter yet? No, I have not,” she added.

Meanwhile, Jordan stated that she didn’t her letter for last season until September, so there was still a possibility that she will be on the show when it returns. She also added that if her time was over, then she was ready for that outcome as well.

“I’m okay with it being the end of the road if it is, but you never know! It’s not over til the fat lady sings, and I haven’t heard her sing yet,” she stated.

The premiere date for season 8 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has not been announced.
