Nicki Minaj To Wireless Festival Fans: ‘Better Late Than Never’

Plane delays + traffic delays = a very upset group of fans at Wireless Festival 2015 where headliner Nicki Minaj arrived over two hours late.

When Nicki, who was due to perform with David Guetta that night, finally arrived, she tried to quell the booing crowd’s anger with nothing but love, reports Capital FM.

“Our plane couldn’t get out because of the weather but I want to tell you how much I f*ng love y’all. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you guys for showing up from day one.”

When love wasn’t enough, Nicki went on to light up the stage at London’s Finsbury Park dressed in a sheer black bodysuit showcasing a tiny black thong and push up bra. Nicki proceeded to perform her hits “Feeling Myself,” “Anaconda,” and “Super Bass,” reported The Independent. That seemed to turn Nicki’s fans back to her side.

Also at the festival was Mary J Blige, Ciara, and Nicki’s Cash Money crony Drake.

Nicki has been a busy billionaire in the making, doing European and local shows with snuggle buddy Meek Mill, who recently engaged in a Twitter war with fellow hip-hop artist Joe Budden. But Nicki was quick to stand by her man, and black love in general.

Apparently, Nicki celebrates black love and black shade as her heart felt and semi-shady acceptance speech for the Viewers’ Choice Award left some wondering if she wasn’t passively aggressively hitting out at 90’s rap star Lil Kim.

“This is for everyone in this room. I want to tell you to please make it your business to follow your dreams because one day you will look around and your dream will be gone and you will be mad at somebody. But be mad at your @!%-damn self.”

No one knows for sure if Nicki’s speech was directed at the Queen Bee, or if Lil Kim even took it as a subtle diss. Either way, Kim has exercised her right to remain silent on the matter.

Nicki also recently walked away with BET’s coveted award for Best Female Hip-Hop artist, beating out fan favorite Iggy Azalia and Azalia’s Twitter nemesis Azealia Banks, along with Tink, Trina and DeJ Loaf, who appears with Nicki on the Pinkprint Tour.

This isn’t the first time Nicki has been tardy for the party. During her run on American Idol, Nicki was late for the live broadcast. That time, Nicki’s tardiness was explained away as being caused by “congestion on the 405.”
