George Clooney Might Sell Italian Estate Due To Paparazzi Attention

George Clooney and his lovely wife Amal get way too much attention when visiting their luxury estate overlooking Lake Como in Italy. Rumors are flying that he may sell it.

According to Page Six, an anonymous source has told them George Clooney is sick of he and his wife Amal being photographed by the paparazzi everytime they stay in Villa Oleandra in Laglio.

Reportedly George Clooney is an honorary citizen of the village, considered “mayor of the lake,” and he loves the town and the people that live there. However, according to the source, he is sick to death of all the attention when they just want to get away for a quiet vacation.

“George loves the area and the people who live there, but is conscious of the attention he gets when he is in town.”

“The star is hugely popular in the northern Italy area — He’s like the mayor of the lake.”

Due to all the unwanted attention, Roberto Pozzi, current mayor of Laglio, established a no-gone zone around Clooney’s villa and the villa next door to it, which Clooney apparently also owns, with fines of $550 for anyone getting within 300 feet of the property, but it seems this is not enough.

It turns out that, back in 2007, George Clooney was also considering selling his beloved villa because the actor said the mayor at that time, Guiseppe Mantero, wanted to make a boat dock next to the villa an area “for viewing George Clooney’s place.” At the time, Clooney actually apologized to the town for the unwanted attention he was bringing.

According to the rumors, Clooney has received an offer of $100 million for the villa, which dates back to the 18th century, and he is reportedly considering it. The figure is reportedly close to 10 times what the actor paid for the villa back in 2002. If he does sell, he would then buy a “less accessible” property, elsewhere in Italy.

“He has received a huge offer for the villa, which he is considering, and he would buy another, less accessible property in another area of Italy.”

The Local reports that, since the article appeared in the media last week, the Italian press is bursting with rumors, but there is no firm confirmation of the possibility of the sale by George Clooney.

Meanwhile, the Inquisitr has reported that Eva Longoria considers George Clooney to be the “whole package.”
