A New Grimm Poster: ‘Vengeance Rises From The Ashes’

Warning: This article may contain spoilers for Grimm.

By now, most fans of Grimm have seen the finale and know that Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) is facing life as a grimm without Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) at his side. Of course Nick still has Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) and the rest of his friends, but Juliet’s condition as a hexenbiest and her death at Trubel’s hands have certainly led Nick suffering a loss not so easily healed. For that reason, it should come as no surprise to Grimm fans that the new season and a recently released poster focus on themes of justice and revenge.

For those Grimm fans hanging on to the idea that Juliette will miraculously return, showrunner Jim Kouf warns that not everything is reversible in the Grimm universe.

“Juliette is dead,” Kouf said. “I think it keeps everyone on edge. You don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Meanwhile, Kouf’s partner as Grimm‘s showrunner, David Greenwalt, adds to the certainty of Juliette’s demise.

“Anything could happen. It seems like a few shows, episode whatever, they get married or they finally get together. We decided to go a different way.”

Previously, Greenwalt revealed that the Grimm series was headed for big changes in season five and that Nick wouldn’t be the same moving forward, even after the grieving process played out.

“I think it’s going to be even darker still in a way. You know, it’s not going to be the same Grimm. I think it will be even bigger, even darker, even weirder. You know, I think it’s where it naturally will go.”

Of course, there is the mourning stage, even for a grimm and the showrunners don’t want fans to forget that Nick has suffered a loss, even while drama with Trubel is unfolding.

“It’s 12 episodes of him, alone in a room, feeling bad,” Grimm showrunner Greenwalt teased.

Even after Nick rises from his grief, there is still the issue of justice and the grimm in him will definitely be seeking out those responsible for Juliet’s hexenbiest nature. Grimm‘s creative team reveals that Nick will be out to destroy the royal family, though it seems unclear whether Nick will hunt down all of the royals in a Charles Bronson style vendetta or if the grimm will only be seeking out those he feels are directly responsible.

The Grimm season premiere will air on October 30 on NBC.
