Texas’ Jade Helm 15 Conspiracy Theories Blamed On Barack Obama By Ted Cruz

The rise of so-called Jade Helm 15 conspiracy theories has some in Texas starting to get riled up since they believe the federal government plans on invading this month. While many deride the conspiracy theorists for their beliefs, others say these ideas only became reasonable due to the actions of President Barack Obama. For example, even 2016 presidential election hopeful Senator Ted Cruz believes there is “reason for concern and uncertainty.”

In a related report by the Inquisitr, talk about the Jade Helm 15 military exercises has also caused some Texas politicians to discuss Texas’ secession from the union based upon the movement of $1 billion worth in physical gold.

The Jade Helm 15 conspiracy theory does have some basis in fact. The United States military will in fact be launching one of the largest training exercises in history. The goal of the routine training mission is to simulate U.S. Special Forces helping resistance fighters restore democracy in an imaginary country. Texas will be one of seven states involved in Jade Helm 15, and 1,200 troops will be spread across many counties.

Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria explained that the fictional scenario devised for Jade Helm 15 will be limited to military bases in addition to private property where the U.S. military had already received permission from the landowners. Lastoria also dismissed all of the conspiracy theories associated with Jade Helm 15.

“All service members take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we put our lives on the line every day to uphold that oath,” he said. “So for people to come up with irrational ideas and try to associate them with the United States military, it does our troops a disservice.”

Bastrop County Chairman Albert Ellison disagrees, claiming that “Obama has really painted a portrait in the minds of many conservatives that he is capable of this sort of thing.” Although Jade Helm 15 is simply meant to be a military exercise, some fear the Obama administration would instigate an attack on Texas in order to declare martial law.

“The Obama administration has a history of attacking Texas,” Ellison claimed. “It’s not that much of a leap to believe that he would try to employ the military like he does the IRS.”

According to The Columbian, Republican Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas State Guard to “monitor” Jade Helm 15 and even Senator Ted Cruz claims “the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration.” But Democratic Senator Kirk Watson says, “They are trying to convince people the federal government is coming after them.”

Even those who do not believe the current Jade Helm 15 conspiracy theories still believe there is a nefarious purpose in the end. For example, broadcaster Rick Wiles claims Jade Helm 15 “is intended to get the American public accustom to seeing troops and tanks on the streets and helicopters landing in cities.”

“A military presence in our streets will be necessary next fall when the people realize the country is over,” Wiles said. “Obama has another year in power. He’s not going to seize power illegally this year. He’ll wait, he’ll save it until next year as his term comes to an end.”
