Maxis Declares A Sim Summer With New Gamepacks, A New Patch, And More

The press to turn the tide for The Sims 4 continues as Maxis has declared it a “Sim Summer.”

With the release of The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff, the options for your sims’ summer vacations are better than ever before. There are so many options and players can share pictures of their sims summer activities under the hashtag #simsummer.

If you want to send your sim legacy family camping, check out The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat. Discover the secrets of Granite Falls, or set up a tent in your back yard and roast smores on a fire.

Or perhaps your sims keep their noses to the grindstone. Then The Sims 4 Get to Work will let you micromanage every moment of their career. Sims can even escape the rat race by opening a retail store.

If a staycation is more in line with your play style, The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff and The Sims 4 Luxury Party Stuff can turn their humble home into an oasis of fun and sun.

But what if your sims want a vacation that is swanky, but relaxing? Then the recently announced The Sims 4 Spa Day is for you. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Sims 4 Spa Day will include new locales, now objects, and the new Wellness skill. The Sims 4 Spa Day will also mark the return of yoga and meditation to the series.

The Sims 4 producer Sarah Holding revealed more information about The Sims 4 Spa Day via her Twitter account. Among the new items are a massage chair, mud bath, and a sauna in two models.

Incense and massages can be used in The Sims 4 Spa Day to hilarious and beneficial effect.

The Sims 4 team hasn’t just focused on new content. SimsVIP revealed that a new patch will bring some frequently demanded features to The Sims 4 for free. The information is buried in a file called spotlight.package. According to SimsVIP, the patch will add half walls and locked doors, both of which were frequently requested after the release of The Sim 4 Get to Work. The patch is due out July 9, meaning that the Sims 4 team will continue the habit of releasing at least one free game patch every month.

There’s still no news on the next expansion pack, but with Gamescon just around the corner and EA’s confirmation that The Sims 4 will be represented there, expect more news in the weeks to come.

The Sims 4 Spa Day releases July 14.
