While AMC seem intent on releasing as many promotional items for The Walking Dead's companion series, Fear the Walking Dead, they have managed to sneak in a few promotional stills for Season 6 of The Walking Dead. The three images feature Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan).
The images are just of the individuals, yet they still present some interesting information.
We have Daryl Dixon looking his usual dour self with his crossbow slung over a shoulder. He appears to be in no current danger, although he does look a little pensive or concerned about something. The greenery surrounding him would imply he is outside of Alexandria.
Glenn Rhee is shooting at something. Someone is standing behind him, but it is unclear who this person is. Glenn looks intent on his task, although he could just be target shooting as opposed to shooting at someone or something. He has the remains of facial injuries, which, as Entertainment Weekly points out, could indicate Season 6 of The Walking Dead takes place not long after the finale of Season 5, and those injuries would be a result of Glenn's run in with Nicholas. However, these could just as well be fresh injuries -- it is The Walking Dead after all. The background to Glenn shows he could either be outside Alexandria, however, there is some evidence to suggest structures, so he could just as likely be within Alexandria -- which is a concern if he is shooting at something within the walls of the safe area.
The final picture shows Maggie Green. The house behind her indicates she is probably within the walls of Alexandria, which, once again, is worrying as she is also pointing her gun at something. Have walkers broken in -- or been let in by Father Gabriel again -- or are these the first images of the Wolves inside the walls of Alexandria?
While time will only tell what these images really mean in the grand scheme of things in the Walking Dead universe, fans will be able to get a bigger sneak peek into Season 6 of The Walking Dead at the San Diego Comic-Con next week. The Walking Dead panel occurs on Friday July 10 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. in Hall H of the San Diego Conference Center.
