NeNe Leakes Leaves ‘Housewives’ For Betty White Project

NeNe Leakes may have just quit The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she already has her sights set on bigger and better things. E! is reporting that NeNe has a big project with the legend, Betty White. It’s a show called To Tell the Truth, which is a game show revival that will be heading to ABC.

As the Inquisitr reported, NeNe teased this news earlier. “This was definitely a hard decision for me. Me and my husband (Gregg Leakes) have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”

She continued, “I’m actually going to be doing a new primetime television show with a big legend. All of my fans will get to see me be really happy, witty and funny and tell all of those one liners that I always have said on Housewives.”

The show with Betty and NeNe will have three different panelists who will then ask questions to three different contestants on the show. Two of the contestants are lying, and one of them is telling the truth. ABC has released a statement to explain the new show featuring Betty and NeNe.

“In each round, they will be presented with three people who all claim to be the same person with the same incredible talent, job, or achievement. One is sworn to tell the truth while the others are not. The panel of celebrities will have a chance to grill each participant before taking turns deciding who they think is telling the truth.”

This isn’t the only time that NeNe Leakes has broke out from her Real Housewives. NeNe broke out from the pack as an actress a while ago. She had a recurring role on Fox’s Glee, and then was a supporting cast member on the ill-fated show The New Normal. Both shows were run by Ryan Murphy. Leakes also hit the Broadway stage in Cinderella. Her newfound popularity was always a major plot point in the reality show, so it’s no surprise that she finally bit the bullet and decided to leave.

Bravo’s Andy Cohen released a statement about the huge news.

So far, we don’t know when the show is planning to air.
