Is A NeNe Leakes Talk Show Coming Soon? Plus, She Could Return To ‘RHOA’ In A Part-Time Role

NeNe Leakes announced she was leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Monday, but just one day later, sources claim she’s plotting her television return. In fact, in addition to a possible part-time role on the Bravo reality series, NeNe Leakes is said to be in talks to star in a talk show of her own.

On June 30, a source told Real Mr. Housewife that NeNe Leakes was shopping a talk show to “multiple networks.” Although there was no confirmation of which networks were speaking to the reality star about the potential series, the source claimed the show would be all about Leakes.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, NeNe Leakes announced she’d be leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta after seven seasons with the series on Monday. In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Leakes explained that while her decision to leave wasn’t easy, she felt confident in her choice to move on.

“This was definitely a hard decision for me. Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”

“I’m actually going to be doing a new primetime television show with a big legend. All of my fans will get to see me be really happy, witty and funny and tell all of those one liners that I always have said on Housewives.”

NeNe Leakes went on to say that her exit would likely come as good news to her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars, who often felt defeated by her fame.

“They always felt like I was the star, and they were never able to really shine with me there, so here’s their opportunity to shine.”

While NeNe Leakes’ announcement seemed to hint she would not return to the show in any capacity, a report by TMZ hours later alleged she was already in negotiations to return to the show in a part-time role.

The site claimed NeNe Leakes’ decision to leave the show was made after she landed the primetime series mentioned. Because the new show would take up so much of her time, she felt she had to chose between the two. However, regarding a part-time role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the source claimed NeNe Leakes was totally open to the idea.
