Katy Perry Celebrates Being A ‘Boss’ And The Highest-Paid Female Celebrity

Not only has Katy Perry been named as one of Forbes’ “highest-paid celebrity females,” but she also graced the cover of the July issue of the business magazine.

Perry, 30, comes in at No. 3 on the list with earnings of $135 million during the June 2014 to June 2015 earnings year. Perry earned most of the money from her Prismatic World Tour. She also has endorsements with Adidas, Cover Girl, Moschino, Pop Chips, and Toyota. And according to Billboard, Perry’s “2012 documentary Part of Me grossed $33 million on a $6 million budget.”

Katy shared the exciting news on her Instagram page. She shared the photo of her Forbes cover with fans and said that she wasn’t willing to turn down the offer. Katy has a lot to be proud about since she’s one of the many successful and famous ladies that earned a lot in the past year.

“Before accepting the offer to be on the cover of ‘Forbes,’ I was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it. I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn’t a humble decision. Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it’s okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss. Also… don’t think that I didn’t celebrate this moment by going straight to Taco Bell and getting my crunch wrap supreme #ontourbreak”

Taylor Swift, Katy Perry’s rumored arch nemesis, is also on the Forbes list. Swift is the only other woman on the top 10 list, tied at eighth place with Robert Downey Jr. Swift only earned $80 million for the past year since she hasn’t tour until May 2015. Swift is set to earn more money next year, thanks to her sold-out shows and tour merchandise.

Perry is enjoying her time in the spotlight right now. She even told Forbes that she loves coming in at No. 3 on the “Celebrity 100” list.

“I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company. I’m an entrepreneur. I don’t want to shy away from that. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.”

Forbes has released its “Celebrity 100” list every year since 1999. It’s the first time that the list has been making headlines thanks to the likes of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. This is also the first time that the Forbes list has gone international, including talent from both Hollywood and Bollywood.
