After Brandi Glanville And NeNe Leakes’ ‘Real Housewives’ Departures, Vicki Gunvalson The Next To Go?

Brandi Glanville announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last week. Yesterday, NeNe Leakes announced that she’s leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Is the OG of the OC, Vicki Gunvalson, the next big name to leave the Real Housewives franchise? In an interview with the Associated Press, posted on Tuesday, Vicki talked about being on The Real Housewives of Orange County for 10 years.

When asked if she has ever thought about leaving the show, Vicki admitted that she has. For now though, the good still outweigh the bad.

“Yes. In the past three years I’ve thought about it. It’s been hard to manage my personal life and then my insurance career… I weigh it out every year and there’s always been more good than bad. When there is a day there’s more bad than good, then I’m done… I don’t live, breathe and die a TV show.”

Vicki Gunvalson almost didn’t get to hold an orange in the opening credits of the tenth season. In December, 2014, Vicki admitted to Us Weekly that the show’s producers threatened to reduce her role if she didn’t open up to viewers when it comes to her relationship with controversial boyfriend Brooks Ayers, who has publicly clashed with her daughter, Briana Culberson. Vicki decided that she wanted to hold an orange for at least one more season, so she agreed.

“It’s really frightening bringing back Brooks into my life publicly. [Bravo] basically put the gauntlet down and said, ‘If you don’t film with Brooks, then we are reducing your role.’ And I was like, ‘Oh no! You did not just say that!’ “

At that time, Vicki maintained that she will stay on Real Housewives until she’s forced out.

“I am not going to throw in the towel on the Housewife franchise. I will be in a walker with my botox and my false eyelashes. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re going to have to kill me off!”

Executive producer Andy Cohen later admitted in an Ask Andy segment that Vicki Gunvalson really was given the ultimatum regarding The Real Housewives of Orange County.

“That’s true! We did! You know why? She’s on a reality show about her life! And he was in her life! So we said, ‘You have to show what’s happening in your life! If you’re dating this guy, you can’t keep it hidden from everybody…She’s in a tough situation. People didn’t like her relationship with him so she was like, ‘Look, I can’t take the criticism.’ I understand her reticence by the way. I understand why she wouldn’t want to share her relationship with Brooks with the world. I love her. I’m so glad that she did [film with Brooks] and that she’s back and that Brooks was on, because that was what was happening in her life.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, NeNe Leakes announced on Monday that she won’t be returning to Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta in order to do different things. Last week, Brandi Glanville announced that she has decided to leave The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She later clarified that she turned down a recurring role.
