Was Ariana Grande Big Sean’s ‘Best Mistake’? Rapper Opens Up About Their Split

Ariana Grande and Big Sean called it quits two months ago, and now the rapper is opening up about his split from the pint-size diva. The two dated for eight months before calling it quits back in April. Their split was amicable, although the media had a different story to tell.

Big Sean recently opened up about his split from Ariana Grande. He also revealed if he regrets getting into high-profiled relationships with Grande and ex, Naya Rivera. He spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the BET red carpet about both of his relationships.

“I don’t plan relationships. They just happen. That’s all it is. I’m just … I’m just living it. It’s no God, it’s no script. You know, we’re just out here doing what we doin’. Feelin’ it out. It’s no mistakes in life, though. Only lessons.”

Sounds like Grande isn’t one of Sean’s “Best Mistakes” after all. The rapper was previously engaged to Rivera before the couple split in 2014. Sean and Grande started dating in late 2014, and made their relationship public in the early months of 2015. Sean may want to change his ways after having very public relationships with both women.

As for Ariana Grande, she doesn’t want to be linked to any men. In a recent interview, the “One Last Time” singer said she doesn’t want to be known as “Big Sean’s ex” or “Niall Horan’s new possible girlfriend.” She wants to be known as Ariana Grande.

Earlier this month, Grande wrote an essay about she’s tired of being defined by whether or not she has a man in her life. In the empowering letter, Grande even talked about her relationship with Sean.

“I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present, or future PROPERTY/POSESSION. I… do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you.”

Unfortunately, for her, the media is swirling about Ariana’s recent PDA with one of her backup dancers. Ariana took the stage at the New York City pride parade on Sunday, June 28. During her steamy performance, the singer kissed her backup dancer, Ricky Alvarez. Most of Ariana’s fans are aware that the kiss was staged and part of the choreography, but it hasn’t stopped the media from speculating about it.

Ariana Grande obviously had fun during her performance. Aside from the kiss, she performed a mash-up of Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman” and Madonna’s “Vogue.” She also performed her hit song, “Break Free.” Grande also slammed the four Supreme Court justices who didn’t support the legalization of same-sex marriage in all 50 states.

“Make some noise if you’re proud to be who you are. Make some noise if you’re proud who you love. Make some noise if you’re proud to be an American. Make some noise if you think the Supreme Court justices who voted against gay marriage should get their heads out of their f***ing a**es and join the g*****n celebration. Make some noise if you’ve got one less problem without them mother****ers.”

Big Sean or not, Ariana Grande is doing fine on her own.
