Kate And Oliver Hudson: Not Surprised By Father’s Words, Who’s Trying To Clear Name

Over the weekend, Kate and Oliver Hudson were the subjects of a very public statement made by their father, musician Bill Hudson, who, via his rant, outright disowned his two star children.

Inquisitr recently shared Bill Hudson’s remarks about his children.

“I say to them now, ‘I set you free.’ I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own. I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth.”

However, such hurtful remarks, all brought about due to Oliver Hudson referring to Father’s Day as “abandonment day,” were of no surprise to the brother and sister duo. Sources close to the pair highlight the tension that has existed for some time now. Bang reports the words of the source who notes that Kate and Oliver have “zero relationship” with their father and that this has been the case for several years.

”They don’t care and are not surprised by this. It’s been this way, and he’s been saying this stuff, forever.”

An additional source also hinted at the fact that Bill Hudson, who was the husband of Goldie from 1975 to 1982, publicly shunned Kate and Oliver as an attempt to “clear his name” after Oliver made known how absent Bill has been, by way of his Father’s Day comment.

The insider who spoke with US Weekly, shed light on Bill’s recent behavior, which is apparently very characteristic of the 65-year-old when it comes to Kate and Oliver.

”They weren’t surprised at all that Bill spoke out. He’s always trying to clear his name and his image. Oliver was just trying to be funny by posting that comment. In retrospect, he probably should have thought twice before putting that out. But what’s done is done.”

The second source also added that Oliver’s comment as to how Kate and he feel about Bill Hudson, “wasn’t news to him.” The Fabletics team are said to view Kurt Russell as more of a father figure and insiders share that “they consider Kurt to be the only father they’ve ever known.”

Kate and Oliver have continued to succeed, working incredibly well as a team while running their Fabletic athletic wear line and also within their individual acting careers.
