Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky Announce Arena Tour

Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky are joining forces for an arena tour of the UK in October. It’s going to be a big deal: the rappers will visit Nottingham, Liverpool, Birmingham and London, ending the tour with a huge concert in Manchester, and, due to the growing popularity of both performers, the project will most likely be a success.

According to Music-News.com, the main cause of general love towards Wiz Khalifa is his last hit “See You Again“:

“Currently wowing crowds across the US with Fall Out Boy and Hoodie Allen on the ‘Boyz of Zummer’ tour, Wiz Khalifa is one of the most diverse names in music. He recently released the huge number 1 smash hit ‘See You Again’ featured on the Furious 7 soundtrack. The song set the record for most streams in a single week in 26 countries including the UK and holds the record for the most-streamed track in a single day on Spotify in the United States (streamed 4.2 million times on April 13, 2015).”

It is quite an interesting fact, though, that this song did not only get to the top of music charts in UK, it also gained quite specific popularity – according to The Inquisitr, the hit is often used at funerals:

Wiz Khalifa has been on top of the charts and breaking records for “See You Again” — but there may be an unexpected funeral-related twist to this song.

Of course, a relationship between Wiz Khalifa’s chart-breaking song and funerals is not exactly a surprise. After all, when Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth started talking about the song to the media — tears were mentioned.

Despite the unexpected usage of the song, it continues to gain more and more attention – not only from the fans, but also from other singers. For example, Unreality TV reports that Carrie Underwood decided to combine her own song with Khalifa’s hit:

“Not content with being the biggest country star on the planet, a new mum, a clothing designer and the face of Almay cosmetics, Carrie Underwood showed off yet another of her talents during a country music festival on June 28th.

The former ‘American Idol’ winner was performing at Big Barrel Festival in Delaware over the weekend when she decided to surprise the very lucky crowd with a mash-up of her 2013 single ‘See You Again’ with Wiz Khalifa’s 2015 single of the same name… including the rap.”

Perhaps, Wiz Khalifa might manage to create a new hit especially for the tour – who knows, we’lll have to wait until October to find out.
