New Google Nexus 5 To Launch With Android M, Rumors Say

Google has already announced its new OS, Android M, and now rumors say that the new Google Nexus 5 is to launch with it. The new OS is going to be released sometime in the third quarter. This could be a little too soon for a new device, considering the Nexus 6 was not released until the fourth quarter of 2014. There is usually a year break between new devices.

There are still many rumors circulating regarding the new expected device. One of those is that there will be two: one created by LG and the other by Huawei. While one would reportedly have a 5.7-inch display, the other would be aimed at those who want a phone rather than phablet device and carry a 5.2-inch screen. There is no new tablet expected this year, with Google still reportedly happy with its Nexus 9.

According to Android Headlines, Huawei has confirmed that it is working on a new device for the tech giant. It has not fully confirmed the specifications of the device. The tech giant is still to confirm anything about a new Google Nexus phone. The new Nexus 5 was expected towards the end of last year, but the 6-inch phablet was released instead. LG has not confirmed that it will be working with Google on a new device.

Yibada states that there has been confirmation of a new Google Nexus device being released with Android M. That does not mean a new phone is coming or that the new Nexus 5 is coming.

It does make sense that these rumors are circulating. When a new OS is released, it usually comes with a new phone. All tech companies tend to opt for this option. For example, Apple released its iOS 8 with its new iPhone last year. Considering Google owns Nexus and Android, it makes sense for these two to coincide with each other.

The tech giant is very good at staying tight-lipped on new releases, especially when it comes to phones and tablets. A few years ago, the second-generation Nexus 7 was released unexpectedly. This led to rumors of a second-generation Nexus 10, which never did surface. With that in mind, it is important to take all Google Nexus rumors with a pinch of salt.

The tech company likes to remain quiet to help avoid too much competition from other companies. This is another reason for many rumors saying that a new Google Nexus device will be released around October/November, rather than September/October, when most other companies release new devices.
